Hello reddit, I used to make fake Ids. I made them for about a year and a half and now I have finally stopped making them. I made mostly New York and sold to friends, friends of friends, friends of friends of friends ect. If anyone has any questions about anything fake ID related feel free to ask. Ill try to answer anything and everything to the best of my ability!
I originally started off on an HP photosmart 6520 <-- (I think that was the model) Just because I wanted to make myself a fake to buy beer with. I was able to produce passable NY fakes IN NEW YORK (no clubs only at liquor stores and anywhere that sold beer). After that I realized what I could do and my friends stared wanting them too so I purchased an epson r280. After that I ended up purchasing a Fargo DTC1000 which hasn't seen much use at all.
Well I mostly made new york which I made myself but on the rare occasion I had to do different states I ordered them.
I am not up to date on the sources at the moment but I can look around later tonight and Ill pm you if I find something
Curious as to whether or not you'd be willing to make a video (who cares if it's been a while!). The process has always fascinated me but I'm a visual learner. just sort if documenting the process you had. Obviously, each state would be different, but it'd be neat to watch!
for pretty obvious reasons I dont think this is a good idea but if you have any questions you can feel free to pm me.
The sin wave believe it or not is almost impossible to get perfect. The thing is with real NY ids, the sin wave fades very easily and is often only seen under a very bright light like a camera flash or a flashlight. With that being said I was able to replicate by mixing pearl ex interference blue, pearl ex macro pearl and a black pigment I found at Michaels. I would then mix that with speedball transparent base. To apply it I had made my own stencils, individual ones and fullsheet ones. I also had a stamp for it as well. (preferred the stencils) Make sure to apply it VERY LIGHTLY so it mimics the sin wave on the real NY ids when they are faded slightly
The money was amazing, way better than what I could make at a job as someone who is teenager. I could make more in a few hours than I would make in a month of a minimum wage job. I'm not really sure what stopped me, I guess I just decided to quit while I was ahead.
